Using Pinterest to Inspire Squidoo Lenses

Finding ideas for Squidoo lenses tends to come easily to me, but sometimes, once in a blue moon, it can be a struggle. When that happens, I have a few go-to places to look for ideas. One of these is Pinterest.

Pinterest is chock full of cool ideas on nearly every topic that could have a picture to go with it. So, how do you use it to get ideas? Just start browsing! When you see something that catches your eye, ask yourself if it would make a good lens. There are a few things to look for when deciding to turn an inspiring pin into a lens:

1. Can you reproduce the idea or spin off from it? It’s not usually kosher to grab someone else’s photos.

2. Does it have a lot of likes or repins? The more of these you see, the more popular that topic is.

3. Is there a decent number of searches each month for the keyword? If not, maybe there are similar keywords that will work.

4. How much competition do the keywords have?

All of these will help you determine if you have a good niche or not. I’ve recently found several great lens topics to use for Squidoo thanks to Pinterest. Plus, it’s a good way to make that darn addictive site work for you!
